NECA Member PAR Electrical Contractors Selected for Eldorado-Ivanpah Transmission and Red Bluff Substation Projects

PAR Electrical Contractors, Inc., a Quanta Services company and member of several NECA chapters, has been selected by Southern California Edison to complete two new transmission infrastructure projects in the California-Nevada area. For the Eldorado-Ivanpah project, PAR will replace an existing 115-kilovolt electric transmission line with 35 miles of double-circuit, 220-kilovolt electric transmission line. This new line will provide residents with 1,400 megawatts of renewable energy from the nearby Southern California-Nevada border. PAR will also construct the new 500/220-kilovolt Red Bluff Substation Infrastructure, which will allow for connectivity of existing and future renewable facilities to local grid systems. Both projects are estimated to be complete by late-2013.
