NECA Endorses Bill to Fast Track Deployment of Electric Vehicles

We are pleased to report that the Electric Vehicle Deployment Act (HR 1685) was recently introduced by U.S. Representatives Judy Biggert (R, IL-13), Ted Deutch (D, FL-19), Anna Eshoo (D, CA-14), Edward Markey (D, MA-7), and Jerry McNerney (D, CA-11).

NECA strongly backs this bipartisan legislation which could help create jobs and end America’s dependence on foreign oil by extending a tax credit related to electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), grants to selected communities to demonstrate widespread deployment of electric vehicles, and other measures to incentivize both deployment and domestic production of the needed vehicle components and charging infrastructure. The bill is also supported by a broad coalition of business leaders and national security experts.
