The Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter, NECA co-sponsored a booth with IBEW Locals 98, 313, 380 and 654 at PV America in Philadelphia last week to showcase their combined expertise in solar panel installations and joint solar installation training program.
PV America is presented by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), organizations devoted to expanding the U.S. solar energy market.
“Being at PV America was a great opportunity for our chapter and our joint training program,” said Jeff Scarpello, Executive Director, Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter, NECA. “More than 3,000 industry stakeholders were at the event, and we were able to show them exactly how NECA and the IBEW were the best choice for solar installations.”
IBEW Local 98 (Philadelphia) and the chapter sponsored a reception on April 4, where local NECA contractors shared their insight on solar projects with conference attendees.
“There’s a better understanding today among consumers that solar panels aren’t just plug-and-play,” said Michael Raines, Instrumentation and Controls, Inc. “To realize the full benefit of any renewable energy product, it has to be integrated with a building’s electrical systems and the utility. NECA contractors and IBEW workers can consistently provide the level of service those customers demand to make their investment in solar power worthwhile.”
Representatives from the Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter, NECA Contractor Member Companies that attended the trade show and reception included: Aloha Communications Contractors; Ray Angelini, Inc.; Silas Bolef Company; Hobbs and Company, Inc.; Instrumentation and Controls, Inc.; Miller Brothers; J.P. Rainey and Company, Inc.; Riggs Distler and Company, Inc.; Shelly Electric Company, Inc.; and Union Electric. Chapter representatives participating in the show included Jeff Scarpello, Ken MacDougall, Tom McNulty, Tony Ennis and Nick Bradley.
