Off-shore Wind Farm on the North Coast

It appears that Lake Erie may be home to off-shore wind energy. In the first phase of the project, GE and Lake Erie Energy Development Corp plan to construct five 200-foot tall wind turbines about 6 miles north of Cleveland. The installation should generate about 20 megawatts of power by 2012, with long range plans to expand to 1 gigawatt (1,000 megawatts) by 2020. Read the AP article at http://tinyurl.com/2wmyhuw
